Founded on 8th of May 2021 as a small WhatsApp group and later rebranded to DAIJOUBU on 31st of August 2026 as a student association with the goal of connecting students through shared love for Asian (pop) culture.

The name of the association has meaning in Japanese, Chinese and Korean. DAIJOUBU can also be read as DAIJOU-VU.

The mascot’s name is Daijoubunny.
